Azerbaijan fires 165 mortar shells at Armenian positions over the weekend: NKR Defense Army
Over the weekend the Azerbaijani side continued to intensively violate the ceasefire on the line of contact between the armed forces of Karabakh and Azerbaijan by using small arms and artillery weapons.
The press service of Defense Ministry of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic said that in addition to using large-caliber guns on August 8-9, Azerbaijani troops fired 165 shells from 60 mm and 82 mm mortars at Armenian frontline positions.
Azerbaijan violated the ceasefire over 400 times in the indicated period, with about 7.500 shots being fired. The frontline units of NKR Defense Army confidently performed their military tasks and suppressed the enemy’s activity by response actions.
