Radical changes in Armenia impossible without constitutional reforms, MP says
Lernik Aleksanyan, a deputy of ‘Republican Party of Armenia’ faction of the Armenian parliament, considers constitutional reforms in Armenia to be a necessity.
“Both the opposition and the authorities constantly speak of drastic economic and political changes, and without constitutional reforms it would be impossible to bring about such changes,” he said, stressing that reforms on paper are not enough, they also need to be put into practice.
To remind, on August 4 the Commission on Constitutional Reforms under Armenian President released the main chapters 1 to 15 of the preliminary version of the draft Constitution of Armenia. The document is available at the website of Armenian Ministry of Justice. The Commission is expected to complete its work on the final chapter 16 in the next few days.
