Cooperation of Potsdam and Byurakan observatories discussed in Brandenburg
Armenian Ambassador to Germany Ashot Smbatyan met with Prime Minister of Brandenburg Dietmar Woidke in Potsdam, Armenian Foreign Ministry said.
D. Woidke stressed the importance of the meeting with the ambassador of a country having a rich Christian culture.
Ambassador Smbatyan thanked the prime minister for his hospitality, noting that the federal state of Brandenburg is of particular importance to Armenia as the house museum of famous German humanist Johannes Lepsius who was a great friend of the Armenian people is located in Potsdam.
The interlocutors also discussed prospects of cooperation between Armenia and Brandenburg in spheres such as agriculture, education, science, and culture. In particular, great potential for cooperation between the astrophysical observatories of Potsdam and Byurakan was pointed out.
