Hraparak: Margarita Grigoryan creates problems in Public TV Company
Feelings did not calm down in Public Television of Armenia, and discontent with the company’s executive director Margarita Grigoryan has not declined, ‘Hraparak’ paper writes, pointing out a serious disagreement between her and Gevorg Altunyan, director of ‘Haylur’ information program.
“Although the executive director does not intervene in the contents of the information program which is guided from the Armenian presidential residence, the two failed to find a common language from the very beginning. The differences have become sharper now as salaries of Public Television employees were raised, while salaries of ‘Haylur’ staff remained the same.
Although the director of ‘Haylur’ receives a salary of several million drams, the salaries of ordinary reporters and technical personnel are quite low. It is rumored in Public TV that by not raising salaries of the employees of ‘Haylur’ program, Margarita Grigoryan is trying to stir up discontent with Altunyan and get rid of him by provoking an internal rebellion. As the executive director is supported by the presidential administration, she will probably be able to carry out her plan, although Altunyan also has enough support.
“Chairman of the Council of Public Television and Radio Company Ruben Jaghinyan makes no attempt to settle these differences. Jaghinyan is said to have found himself in a terrible situation because of Margarita,” the paper says.
