Zhoghovurd: Brother of Syunik governor admitted to mental hospital
‘Zhoghovurd’ paper writes citing sources that Seyran Khachatryan, aka Aghalar - the brother of Syunik province’s governor Suren Khachatryan - was admitted to a mental hospital at the end of last week after being diagnosed with phrenoplegia.
The paper says that Aghalar was ‘hospitalized’ immediately after it became known that the prosecutor supervising the investigation into the May 2 incident in ‘Sdkhi Gyol’ area instructed the investigator to toughen the charges brought against Seyran Khachatryan and his son Eyner Khachatryan.
“As a result, the initial charge brought against them under Article 118 (scuffle) of the Criminal Code was replaced by a charge under Article 113 - intentional infliction of moderate damage to health.
It should be noted that crimes under Article 118 do not carry imprisonment, while the current charge may result in imprisonment of up to 5 years,” the paper says.
