Sex charges against WikiLeaks' Assange set to expire
Sex allegations against WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange are set to reach their five-year expiration date in a few days, according to Usatoday.com.
Assange has been living in the Ecuadorian embassy in London since June 2012 to avoid extradition to Sweden, where he was wanted for questioning on allegations of violent sexual assault.
Assange, 44, denies the claims.
Within a week, three of the four claims will have expired, The Times of London reports.
Earlier Tuesday, The Independent reported that Ecuador agreed to talk with Sweden about allowing the Nordic country to question Assange.
Two allegations of unlawful coercion of two Swedish women expire on Thursday, and a sexual molestation allegation expires Aug. 18.
The expiration of the sex charges against Assange doesn't mean his legal problems are over. He is still wanted on spying charges in the United States and he will still face one charge of rape in Sweden, which carries a 10-year statute of limitations.
