Amazing 9-year-old Fujian boy can solve Rubik\'s Cube blindfolded and with feet
A nine-year-old boy from Xiamen, Fujian province has become an online sensation after showing off his incredible ability to solve a Rubik's Cube using his FEET on a reality show program on March 22.
Que Jian yu spent 1:04:86 solving three Rubik's Cubes with one hand and feet simultaneously while on the show Amazing Chinese.
The fourth-grader had previously challenged himself on another show last year, and almost succeeded in solving five Rubik's Cubes while blindfolded. His second time on the show, he managed to solve eight Rubik's Cubes, according to Shanghaiist.com.
Que said he has been solving Rubik's Cubes since he was five years old. His father, an engineer, noticed his son's interest and taught him for a while. Not long after, he became much better at solving Rubik's cubes than his father, who later hired Ye Jiaxi, the president of the Xiamen Rubik's Cube Association, as his teacher.
When Que was just seven years old, he set a new Guinness World Record for being the youngest person to solve a three-order Rubik's Cube while blindfolded. He completed the feat in four minutes 49 seconds, according to the World Cube Association.
Ye said there are more than 110 formulas that can be used to solve a Rubik's Cube. Solving one while blindfolded is the most difficult as the player has to number the blocks, remember their positions and memorize more than fifty formulas.
