Construction of 3rd Iran-Armenia power transmission line to start next week
Armenian Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan said at the beginning of the government session today that an agreement on construction of 3rd Iran-Armenia power transmission line was signed a few days ago, which means that the process has begun.
In his words, it means that the construction will start next week. “I am sure that cooperation with Iran, especially in energy sector, will lead to a considerable increase in the commodity turnover between the two countries. The Armenian government hails the Iran nuclear deal and highlights the importance of constructive efforts of Iran and international mediators. It should be noted that it is an important step towards achieving a lasting peace and stability in the region,” H. Abrahamyan said.
According to him, Iran is an important and reliable country for Armenia, and our nations have centuries-old history. “I am hopeful that economic relations between Armenia and Iran will reach a new level, and the Armenian side will spare no effort to fulfill all the opportunities,” the premier said.
