Hraparak: Khachatur Sukiasyan likely candidate for business ombudsman
A new state structure is being set up to deal with protection of business interests. According to ‘Hraparak’ paper, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) told the Armenian government to create an institution of financial ombudsman by the autumn. The financial ombudsman shall function independently of the Office of Armenian Human Rights Defender and aim to protect small and medium businessmen.
There are several candidates for business ombudsman. The issue of young professionals is being discussed in the ruling circles, but it is also rumored that famous businessman Khachatur Sukiasyan is one of the likely candidates. Another candidate is Chairman of SME Cooperation Association NGO Hakob Avagyan who was the first to propose the idea of business ombudsman, the paper writes.
