Vandals desecrate grave of Euromaidan hero Sergey Nigoyan in Dnepropetrovsk region
Unknown persons stole fir trees from the grave of Sergey Nigoyan, a hero of the Euromaidan movement, in Ukraine’s Dnepropetrovsk region, Ukrainian law enforcers told Unn.com.ua.
Relatives of S. Nigoyan alerted the police to the theft. Law enforcers found out that seven firs were stolen. A criminal case was opened under Article 297 part 1 (desecration of a grave) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The crime carries a fine of up to 100 times the non-taxable income of citizens.
Sergey Nigoyan was killed during the events in Kiev on January 22, 2014 at the age of 21. He was posthumously awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine.
