Haykakan Zhamanak: Temperatures in Armenia to drop sharply from August 21
Temperatures in Armenia are expected to drop by 5-6 degrees from August 21, the deputy chief of the weather service of Ministry of Territorial Administration and Emergency Situations Gagik Surenyan told ‘Haykakan Zhamanak’ newspaper.
Temperatures in the capital city of Yerevan will not exceed +34 degrees Celsius. It was already raining in some regions of the country yesterday. No one has died in Yerevan from extremely high temperatures recorded in Yerevan in the last few days, the paper learned from the city ambulance service.
“The State Committee of Water Resources continues working hard to deliver irrigation water to farms. Many countries are suffering from heat waves. The heat wave in Pakistan killed 1200 people. 70% of crops in Ingushetia failed,” the paper says.
