Co-owners of Air Armenia express concern over incident with airline CEO
The co-owners of the Armenian airline Air Armenia issued a statement expressing their concern over the incident when the airline CEO Arsen Avetisyan who holds a 51% stake in the company was beaten up on August 15, 2015.
“The personal security of each employee of the airline and their right to freedom of action is an important condition of Air Armenia and a guarantee of organizing its operations. We express our gratitude to the Armenian authorities for their vigilance, urgent and purposeful measures to ensure the security of Arsen Avetisyan and his family.
We at the same time urge the sides to remain reasonable for a prompt resolution of the problems,” the statement says.
The airline co-owners noted that the recent events may jeopardize Air Armenia’s investment projects and reforms. “We ask the sides and representatives of the authorities to find a legal way out of the situation,” they said in the statement.
As was reported earlier, Air Armenia’s CEO Arsen Avetisyan was taken to Heratsi Hospital No 1 in Yerevan with a broken nose and injuries. He claims that he was beaten up on orders from Ruben Hayrapetyan, President of Armenia’s Football Federation. The materials on the battery of Air Armenia CEO Arsen Avetisyan were filed to the Investigative Committee of Armenia.
