Haykakan Zhamanak: Government initiates return of Hayfilm studio
‘Haykakan Zhamanak’ daily writes citing its sources that the Armenian government is initiating the process of returning Hayfilm studio after Hamo Beknazaryn from its owners who failed to fulfill contract obligations.
The paper reminds its readers that Hayfilm is owned by Gerard Cafesjian and Bagrat Sargsyan.
“In the past ten years they failed to make the promised investment of millions of dollars. No shooting pavilions were built, and the film studio has not been equipped with modern equipment. The Armenian cinema heritage has not been digitalized in sufficient quantity,” the newspaper says.
The daily was offered to submit its questions in writing when its correspondent asked State Property Department of the Armenian Government to make comments. Director General of CS Films (Hayfilm) Khachatur Tsolakyan also declined to comment.
