CEO of Air Armenia ready for amicable settlement
Arsen Avetisyan, CEO of the Armenian airline Air Armenia and the owner of 51% of the company’s shares, is prepared to accept a proposal for an amicable agreement. He stated this in an open letter today.
Avetisyan thanked all those who supported him and his family in recent days. “I want to express special gratitude to the Armenian authorities, law enforcers, and the mass media for their prompt response to statements of my wife and brother and their purposeful actions”, he wrote.
“As a result of the abovementioned events, Air Armenia found itself in a difficult situation. There was a risk that the success of recent months could be reversed.
Representatives of East Prospect Fund who are my major partners and hold a 49% stake in the company issued a statement yesterday, calling for a legal way to solve the existing problems. They also said that such cases may negatively affect the organization’s investment policy and reforms.
At the moment the re-launching of Air Armenia, payment of salaries of about 250 employees, and fulfillment of obligations to our partners directly depend on the investments made.
My partners call on me to exercise common sense, accept the reconciliation proposal, take reasonable steps, and take into account every point related to the future of Air Armenia when making a decision. I realize the importance of my decisions and bear responsibility for them. So, taking into consideration the proposal for reconciliation, the concern about the future of Air Armenia, efforts of my partners aimed at solving the company’s problems, and expectations of my family that went through many trials in recent period, I consider the option of working in a peaceful environment and an atmosphere of mutual trust as the only acceptable option,” the letter says.
As was reported, Arsen Avetisyan was taken to Yerevan hospital No 1 with a broken nose and injuries. He insists that he was beaten up on orders from Ruben Hayrapetyan, President of Armenia’s football Federation. The materials on battery of Air Armenia’s CEO Arsen Avetisyan were filed to Investigative Committee of Armenia.
