Zhoghovurd: Arthur Osikyan may be appointed justice minister
‘Zhoghovurd’ paper writes citing sources that Chief of Penitentiary Department of Armenian Justice Ministry Arthur Osikyan was invited yesterday to the presidential residence for a meeting with Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan.
“Serzh Sargsyan is said to have summoned the chief of Penitentiary Department to inform him that there are plans to appoint him as justice minister. Yet Osikyan’s appointment is likely to be announced after his niomination as a candidate at today’s sitting of Executive Body of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA),” the paper says.
‘Zhoghovurd’ attempted yesterday to contact A. Osikyan to verify that information, but another person answered the phone and said that the Penitentiary Department’s head was busy.
The paper reminds its readers that Ms. Arpine Hovhannisyan, an MP of RPA faction was recently considered as he most likely candidate for the vacant post of justice minister, but yesterday she already had a zero chance.
