Armenian president gives instructions to investigate incidents linked to R. Hayrapetyan and M. Sedrakyan
Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan gave instructions to investigate the incidents linked to the names of President of Armenia’s Football Federation Ruben Hayrapetyan and Armenian MP of the faction ‘Republican Party of Armenia’ (RPA) Mher Sedrakyan. The spokesman for RPA, vice speaker of Armenian parliament Edward Sharmazanov announced this after the sitting of RPA’s Executive Body yesterday, on August 20.
“The Armenian president instructed law enforcement bodies to investigate these two incidents. I am sure society will be informed about the results,” he said.
“I will refrain from any assessment of the two incidents as we can only make assumptions at the moment. We have no reliable information,” Sharmazanov said adding that Office of Armenian Prosecutor General will soon issue an official statement regarding those events.
As was reported, CEO of the airline Air Armenia Arsen Avetisyan was taken to ‘Heratsi’ Yerevan Hospital No 1 with injuries and a broken nose. He insists that he was beaten up on orders from Ruben Hayrapetyan, President of Armenia’s Football Federation. The materials on the battery of Air Armenia’s CEO were filed to Investigative Committee of Armenia. Arsen Avetisayn stated in an open letter yesterday that he was prepared to accept a proposal for an amicable settlement.
There have also been reports recently about the battery of Vahan Martirosyan, the leader of Intra-National Liberation Movement, and his wife. V. Martirosyan linked that incident to MP Mher Sedrakyan.
