Haykakan Zhamanak: No cut in gas tariff expected for large consumers
The tariff of natural gas delivered to large consumers will not be revised, Minister- Chief of the Armenian Government Staff David Harutyunyan told ‘Haykakan Zhamanak’ daily yesterday.
In other words, Gazprom Armenia Company will buy gas at the border at a considerably lower price, while continuing to sell gas at the same price to large domestic consumers.
As a result, revenues of Gazprom Armenia will increase by over $40 million a year, at a rough estimate. So it turns out that the price of gas delivered to Armenia declines, but, for example, the huge cost of purchasing gas in Armenia’s energy system will not be reduced.
The minister-chief of the government staff is convinced that the astronomical sum of money to be received by Gazprom Armenia will be spent on implementation of an investment project of the company.
