V. Aivazyan calls for systemic approach during discussions of new Constitution of Armenia
As the Basic Law, the Constitution shall reflect ‘state-individual-society’ relations, Vardan Aivazyan, an expert on constitutional law, said at a press conference today.
In his words, ideological and technical points are equally important in the Constitution. “All the Constitutions have so far ensured only the technical aspect, with no attention being paid to ideology,” the expert said.
Vardan Aivazyan underlined the need for a systemic approach to the draft new Constitution of Armenia, while many currently focus only on some words and provisions when discussing the draft.
As was reported, on August 4 the Commission on Constitutional Reforms under Armenian President released the main chapters 1 – 15 of the preliminary version of the draft Constitution of Armenia. The document is available at the website of Justice Ministry of Armenia. The Commission is expected to finish drafting the final chapter 16 in the next few days.
