President Sargsyan: Armenia always supported integration processes
Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan visited the Tsakhkadzor sports base to meet with participants of ‘Union 2015: Heirs of Victory’ international youth gathering.
The gathering dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the victory in WWII is being held in Armenia on August 15-28 under the aegis of Armenian Defense Ministry. Among the participants are cadets and students of sports-and-military schools of 12 countries, including Armenia, Belarus, Estonia, Latvia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Georgia, Ukraine, and Nagorno Karabakh.
Serzh Sargsyan watched military and sports exercises and Armenia’s military technical products on display. The gathering participants presented him with a stamp made by craftsmen of Ural, Russia, wishing that the Armenian president stamp documents on the Union’s gatherings as often as possible. When accepting the stamp, Serzh Sargsyan thanked the participants noting that the gift is especially precious to him because he did his military service in Southern Urals.
In his speech of welcome, the Armenian president considered it symbolic that the event is held on the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory.
The president said Armenia has always supported integration processes and strengthening of the friendship among peoples, and our country will make efforts so that such gatherings and contacts could take place once or twice a year, allowing participants to make friends with each other and carry with them good impressions.
