Daily Sabah: Baku–Tbilisi–Erzurum pipeline blown up in Turkey
Fighters of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), which is banned in Turkey, blew up a section of the Baku–Tbilisi–Erzurum Pipeline, Daily Shabah writes.
The accident took place in the eastern Turkish province of Kars.
According to the province governor, some 20 PKK fighters participated in an attack on the gas pipeline, blowing it up after an exchange of fire with guards for a short time. Gas transportation along the pipeline was suspended.
There is stepped-up armed forces presence in the area.
