Haykakan Zhamanak: Children of Armenian education minister to attend private school
In an interview with ‘Haykakan Zhamanak’ paper, Education and Science Minister Armen Ashotyan confirmed that his younger son will also attend a school that is not state-funded. This year he will go into the first grade, and like his brother, will study at ‘Ayb’ private school.
The minister did not acknowledge, however, that this choice demonstrates his attitude to state-funded schools. There are many good schools and teachers in Armenia, he said.
The annual tuition at Ayb school is 2.5 million drams. The minister noted that discounts are given if a second child attends Ayb school.
