The Azerbaijani side is expected to intensify activity of its troops, carry out provocations and information subversions ahead of Independence Day of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic, information security expert Tigran Kocharyan told a press conference in Yerevan today. Armenia is at an advantage as regards the information warfare with Azerbaijan, he said.

In such days websites are hacked, with photos showing, for example, Ramil Safarov, being posted. There have been cases when Armenian language materials were posted,” the expert warned.

T. Kocharyan urged the public not to move reports of the Azerbaijani mass media to Armenia’s information field.

“If you have exclusive information, you should provide it to the relevant department of Armenian Defense Ministry. Those Armenian media outlets which release reports of Azerbaijani websites in our information field are unintentionally working for the enemy,” he said.

Tigran Kocharyan urged reporters to familiarize themselves with the instructions for use of Internet resources, browsers and antivirus programs and follow closely the developments in the region and neighboring countries.
