Defense Army of NKR suppresses activity of Azerbaijani troops
On the night of August 31- September 1 Azerbaijan violated the ceasefire about 120 times on the line of contact between the armed forces of Karabakh and Azerbaijan, the press service of Defense Ministry of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic said.
Over 1,200 shots were fired by Azerbaijani frontline units from small arms and artillery weapons at Armenian positions in the indicated period, including 230 shots from 60 mm, 82 mm and 120 mm mortars and RPG-7 and AGS-17 grenade launchers and one shot from TR-107 multi-barrel rocket launcher.
The activity of Azerbaijani troops was suppressed as a result of actions Defense Army of the NKR took in response.
The frontline units of NKR Defense Army continue to perform confidently their combat tasks, the statement says.
