Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan on September 1 sent a telegram of condolence to Dalibaltyan family on the occasion of the decease of Colonel General Gurgen Dalibaltayan, the presidential press service reported.

“It was with deep sorrow that I learned about the decease of the renowned military figure, Colonel General Gurgen Dalibaltayan.
It is impossible to renounce Gurgen Dalibaltayan’s investment in the creation and development of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia, army building. His name is inseparable from the preparation and implementation of the most crucial military operations during the Artsakh war.

Being the first Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia and the long term chief military inspector of the President of the Republic, the renowned commander invested all his knowledge and decades of experience in our national liberation war and in the victories of the Armenian army.

I express my heartfelt condolences to you, your relatives, friends and Dalibaltayan’s fellow friends”, the message reads.
