Vrtanesyan: Baku tries to discredit sources telling truth about difficult situation in Azerbaijani army
A photo of Azerbaijani border guard Orhan Yagubov, 24 whose death was reported earlier, has surfaced on social media. In the photo, he is seen holding a piece of paper with the date ’03.09.2015’ on it. The state border service of Azerbaijan also refuted information about his death.
Commenting on this, the coordinator of the military analytical website Razm.info Karen Vrtanesyan told Panorama.am that information was released on social media by an opposition Azerbaijani blogger who covers unconfirmed deaths in the Azerbaijani army.
“The Azerbaijani side has spread misinformation in order to discredit before the domestic audience the canals covering the difficult situation in the army. The authors of misinformation were lucky this time as well,” Vrtanesyan said noting that such attempts will be made in the future too so as to harm the reputation of sources that report the losses not announced officially.
“We have already published dozens of names, about which the Azerbaijani side cannot say anything , while trying to suppress the fact of their deaths. I suggest releasing such photos from now on,” Vrtanesyan said.
Here are a few names:
1.Sergeant Miriyev Samed Ali Oglu, 25 years old, served in 171st military unit stationed in Gedabek region. He was killed by fellow servicemen on April 21, 2015
