Earthquake of intensity level VII in Azerbaijan, no information about victims
A 5.2 magnitude earthquake hit Azerbaijan at 09:49 am by local time, according to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), news portal Caucasian Knot reports citing the website of the Republican Center of Seismology of National academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan.
According to the report, the 5.2 magnitude epicenter of the earthquake was in 60 km depth 2km to the south-east from the city of Oguz. According to other reports, the earthquake was of 5.9 magnitudes in 13 km depth.
“There are still no reports about victims or destructions caused by the earthquake,” Caucasian Knot writes.
Azerbaijani information agency APA cites the website of the Republican Center of Seismology of National academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan as reporting that in the territory of the Azerbaijani city of Sheki the intensity level of the earthquake was VII in the epicenter, and reached V and VI in the surrounding settlements.
