Earthquake in Azerbaijan also felt in Armenia
The 5.3 magnitude earthquake that hit Azerbaijan on Friday was also felt in some Armenian settlements, according to the press service of Armenian Ministry of Territorial Administration and Emergency Situations (MTAES).
The Seismic Protection Center of MTAES registered an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.3 in the territory of Azerbaijan at 8:49 local time (4:40 am GMT). The earthquake measured 7-8 at the epicenter.
Tremors were felt in several settlements of Armenia: in Vanadzor (2-3 points on the Richter scale), Stepanavan, Kapan (3), Ijevan, Noyemberian (4), Chortan (3-4), Aygedzor (4-5) and Yerevan (3-4).
