Armenian PM thanks residents of border villages for fortitude, pledges to compensate for Azerbaijani damage
Armenian Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan, accompanied by Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan, Minister of Territorial Administration and Emergency Situations Armen Yeritsyan, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces Yuri Khachaturov, and Governor of Tavush province Hovik Abovyan visited border villages of Tavush to become acquainted with the situation there, the implementation of programs, and the existing problems.
The officials visited Parvakar, Sevkar and Koti communities.
During the meeting with residents of border villages, the PM discussed the situation at the border and the incidents when Azerbaijani troops opened fire on Armenian areas. He stressed that the government does its best to support the local population and solve their problems by providing social benefits and tax privileges.
H. Abrahamyan promised that the government will discuss and deal with problems raised by residents such as problems with gas supply, irrigation, repairs of roads and kindergartens, payment of student tuition fees, compensation to residents who cannot cultivate large areas of land because of Azerbaijani gunfire, etc. H. Abrahamyan also promised to compensate local residents for damage done to their homes by the enemy.
Sevkar villagers assured the prime minister that despite Azerbaijani shooting, there is no panic in their village and life goes on as usual. Residents of Koti said the same, noting that the locals’ morale is high.
The PM thanked the residents of border villages for their fortitude. He said Armenia’s government and president will support the locals and their problems will be in the focus of the authorities’ attention.
