Armenian PM proposes reducing dollarization and conducting trade in rubles with EAEU framework
Armenian Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan proposed that the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) member states should abandon their dependence on the dollar and conduct trade in strategic goods in rubles, according to Eurasiancenter.ru.
“The EAEU should take measures to expand the use of national currencies in mutual transactions and reduce dollarization. The experience in carrying out a coordinated macroeconomic policy is important. In this sense the idea of conducting mutual trade on the ruble’s basis without dependence on the dollar is significant,” the head of Armenian government said at a meeting of prime ministers of EAEU states.
