Speaker of Armenia’s National Assembly Galust Sahakyan sent a congratulatory message on the occasion of International Day of Journalists’ Solidarity, the press service of the Armenian parliament reported.

The message says:
“Dear journalists, I congratulate you on the occasion of International Day of Journalists’ Solidarity.

Journalist activities do not have geographical boundaries; moreover, a journalist can set boundaries by his/her activities, the boundaries of truth and protect them with an active civic stance, the strength of mind and spirit, often with own life. In an effort to present the people with the truth, correspondents and photojournalists unfortunately die in various hot spots of the world as well as in peaceful situations staying committed till the end to their specialty and the chosen path. Journalists are effective means and active participants in the realization and perfection of civil society on the objectivity and reliability of the information provided by which public opinion and soundness, state and peoples’ fates are dependent. Media of our country are well-¬deserved members of the international journalist family, an inseparable part of Armenian civil society and also its driving force.

I congratulate you once more on International Day of Journalists’ Solidarity and wish you health, optimism and achievements”.
