PKK militants blow up minibus on Turkish-Azerbaijani border
Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) militants attacked early Tuesday morning the Dilucu customs checkpoint in the territory of Turkey’s Igdir province bordering with the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan, Azerbaijan’s APA news agency reported citing Turkish media.
A minibus carrying police officers was blown up by militants. According to preliminary information, 10 police officers were killed, 3 wounded, said the Turkish media. A skirmish between security officers and militants reportedly lasted for several hours.
The press service of Armenian Ministry of Territorial Administration and Emergency Situations reported earlier today that an explosion that occurred in Turkey early Tuesday, September 8, was also felt in the territory of Armenia.
The rescue service received information around 9:46 am September 8 that a blast was heard in the village of Ranchpar, Armenia’s Ararat province. It turned out that the blast took place in the territory of Turkey, about 5 kilometers from the village of Noramarg in Ararat province.
