Mark Zuckerberg lands Vanity Fair cover, tops New Establishment list
Mark Zuckerberg is a cover star. The Facebook founder has posed for a spread in the October issue of Vanity Fair that was shot by famed photographer Annie Lebowitz.
Zuckerberg's appearance on the magazine's cover coincides with his being named to the top of their annual New Establishment list, the Daily Mail reports.
'At 31, Mark Zuckerberg stands out as something of an elder statesman,' says magazine editor Graydon Carter.
'He has not only proved himself as a brilliant entrepreneur; he may well become one of the great long-haul corporate leaders of the past half-century.
'The $240 billion company he scratched out of his dorm room at Harvard is apparently just his first step toward world domination in the realm of social networking.'
For his big cover shoot, Zuckerberg dressed in his everyday uniform of a gray tee shirt and pair of loose-fit jeans.
He did not, however, wear a hooded sweatshirt.
The cover line for Zuckerberg's article reads; 'He changed the world once. He says he'll do it again with Oculus Rift.'
Zuckerberg announced he had acquired Oculus VR - the maker of the virtual reality head-mounted display Rift - in a March 2014 Facebook post.
The Rift was created by 22-year-old Palmer Luckey and is expected to be released in early 2016.
It has been a big year for Zuckerberg, with the billionaire tech titan announcing in July that he and his wife Priscilla were expecting their first child together - a baby girl.
There are also reports that Zuckerberg - who is estimated to be worth $36.8billion - recently purchased a $22million townhouse in New York City's trendy West Village neighborhood.
