President Sargsyan, new head of Russian Railways discuss Armenian railway infrastructure development
Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan received today Oleg Belozerov – the newly appointed Head of Russian Railways that was awarded concessional management of Armenian Railway.
Serzh Sargsyan congratulated O. Belozerov on his appointment and wished him success, expressing hope that he will use his experience and organizational skills to strengthen Armenian-Russian partnership, the presidential press service reported.
The Armenian president underlined the importance of close cooperation in various spheres, including in transport, in terms of developing interstate relations. He expressed confidence that South Caucasus Railway CJSC led by new Director General Sergey Valko will continue to carry out the work envisaged by the concession contract and maintain close cooperation on the implementation of long-term, mutually beneficial projects.
O. Belozerov assured the Armenian president that he will carry on the traditions of efficient joint work and develop the positive dynamics aimed at improving Armenia’s railway infrastructure.
The sides then discussed the work done to modernize the Armenian railway and enhance its safety, as well as the current programs, the existing problems and the prospects of development.
