Health ministry: Most pupils discharged from hospital, new poisoning cases reported in Shirak province
Most pupils from the school in Bagramyan village of Armenia’s Ararat province who were taken to hospital after showing food poisoning symptoms yesterday , on September 10, have already been discharged from hospital and even attended school today, Panorama.am learned from the school principal Ruzanna Tadevosyan.
“38 pupils of our school were hospitalized. 35 of them were discharged yesterday, and another two were released today. Most of them came to school today. Only ten pupils were absent. We contacted their parents who said the kids are doing well, but the parents decided not to send them to school today – out of prudence,” she said.
The rest of the pupils taken yesterday to the Artashat city medical center were from the village of Aygezard. Armenian Health Ministry said that 5 pupils remain in hospital and their condition is of medium gravity.
Yesterday morning Health Ministry received information from Artashat medical center that pupils of Bagramyan village were hospitalized with poisoning. It became known later that 43 pupils were hospitalized from Bagramyan, and another two were receiving outpatient treatment. The children said they ate hot dogs in the school cafeteria.
Meanwhile, new poisoning cases have been reported in Shirak province. According to the press service of Health Ministry, two children from Dzitankov community were taken yesterday to infectious diseases hospital of the city of Gyumri. Two others were sent to hospital after epidemiological studies and home inspections.
They are likely to be discharged today. All are in satisfactory condition. 28 more patients with symptoms of an intestinal infection have been revealed. They receive outpatient treatment
