Zhoghovurd: Armenia’s air passenger traffic sharply declines
Armenia’s air passenger traffic sharply declined in the first eight months of 2015, ‘Zhoghovurd’ paper writes. According to data of the General Department of Civil Aviation of Armenia, the number of air passengers was 1,292,491 – 664,452 of them departed and 628,039 arrived in Armenia. In 2014 the number of air passengers was 1,399, 820. Their number declined by 107,329.
The decline is due to high ticker prices. Armenian citizen prefer the airport of Georgia’s Tbilisi. As a result, the Armenian airports suffered losses of about $5 million.
