Armenian president offers condolences over Mecca’s Grand Mosque tragedy
Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan sent a message of condolence to the King of Saudi Arabia, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud in connection with the tragedy that occurred in the Grand Mosque of Mecca on Friday, the presidential press service reports.
“I offer my deepest condolences to you, the people of Saudi Arabia, and the families and friends of those who died. I wish fortitude to them and a speedy recovery to the wounded,” the presidential message says.
A huge crane crashed into a part of the Grand Mosque in Mecca, killing at least 107 people and injuring 238 others, according to the latest information. Strong winds and heavy rains caused the crane to fall.
