It is the choice of local residents – Prosperous Armenia party does not politicize Maralik mayor election
Members of the opposition Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) visited polling stations during the election of mayor of the city of Maralik in Armenia’s Shirak province yesterday, September 13. PAP representatives did not notice any irregularities, PAP’s parliamentary faction deputy Mikael Melkumyan told Panorama.am.
Local government elections were held on Sunday, September 13, in 22 communities of Armenia’s Aragatsotn, Gegharkunik, Lori, Kotayk, Shirak, Syunik, Vayots Dzor, and Tavush provinces. Mayoral elections took place in 15 communities, and councils of elders were elected in 8 communities. The incumbent mayor of the city of Maralik, Armenia’s Shirak province, won the September 13 election, with 1,965 voters voting for him, Panorama.am learned from Armenia’s Central Election Commission.
