FM Edward Nalbandyan presents priorities of Armenia’s presidency of CSTO
Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandyan and Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan participated today, on September 15, in a joint meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers, the Council of Defense Ministers , and the Committee of Secretaries of Security Councils of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), Armenian Foreign Ministry said. The acting Head of the Staff of Armenia’s National Security Council (NSC) Aram Tanayan represented NCS of Armenia at the meeting.
The participants discussed the implementation of decisions taken at the December session of the Collective Security Council of CSTO. About two dozen draft documents put on the agenda of Collective Security Council session were approved at the meeting.
Issues related to coordination of the foreign policies of CSTO member states, development of military and military-technical cooperation, and interaction in the sphere of information security and the fight against terrorism were discussed during the meeting.
Secretary-General of CSTO Nikolai Bordyuzha gave a report about the current activities of CSTO and the results achieved through cooperation.
Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandyan presented the priorities of Armenia’s upcoming presidency of the CSTO.
A number of documents on the development of cooperation within the framework of the CSTO were signed at the conclusion of the meeting.
Armenia has assumed the presidency of the CSTO’s Council of Foreign Ministers, Council of Defense Ministers, and the Committee of Secretaries of Security Councils.
