Films of Armenian directors win awards at Warsaw International Historical and Military Films Festival
Two films by Armenian directors – “Other Homeland: Diary of Maria Jacobsen” directed by Vrezh Petrosyan and ‘Tevanik’ by Jivan Avetisyan have won awards at the International Historical and Military Films Festival held in Warsaw, according to the press service of Armenian Culture Ministry.
“Other Homeland”, a film dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, was made at Hayk film studio. The film is based on diaries of Danish missionary Maria Jacobsen known for saving thousands of Armenian children during the Genocide. Her diaries have been translated into many languages.
“Tevanik’ film is about the Karabakh war.
The International Historical and Military Films Festival in Warsaw has been held for the 6th time. It covers anniversaries and historical events of various nations.
