Vahan Martirosyan wanted by police, IC chairman’s advisor says
The head of Intra-National Liberation Movement Vahan Martirosyan has been wanted by the police since September 9. He is accused of grand theft, Panorama.am learned from Sona Truzyan, advisor to the chairman of Armenia’s Investigative Committee.
Azerbaijani mass media reported that V. Martirosyan sought asylum in Azerbaijan and he is going to give a press conference tomorrow.
“According to preliminary information, Martirosyan along with his wife and child spent several days in the apartment of an acquaintance. He stole $4,000 from that apartment. The investigative unit of Yerevan’s Arabkir district brought a charge against him, but Martirosyan did not come to the investigative body so he is wanted by the police since September 9,” S. Truzyan told Panorama.am.
As regards the case of the alleged beating of V. Martorosyan by several subordinates of MP Mher Sedrakyan, Martirosyan was a victim in that case, but he was never questioned as a victim because he did not meet with investigators.
According to press reports, V. Martirosyan has mental problems and is registered in a psychiatric hospital.
