H. Naghdalyan: Opposition remains at ’rally level’, fails to present arguments against draft Constitution
The opposition in Armenia was and remains at a “rally level”, the vice speaker of Armenian parliament Ms. Hermine Naghdalyan said today during debates of the draft amendments to the Constitution of Armenia at the special sitting of the parliament.
In her words, her ‘oppositionist colleagues’ continue to act as speakers at rallies, which is nothing other than a “tactical and strategic mistake”.
In H. Naghdalyan’s opinion, the currently debated draft is a constitution based on a thesis of governing ‘according to the principle of mutual compromises”.
“You are saying ‘no’ out of principle, without any explanations. What are you going to do later? The authorities are taking steps towards social optimization, but you are reluctant, you want to take the helm of the state yourself and you keep repeating that this is aimed at power reproduction and you will not allow it. The constant attempts to link the political fate of President Serzh Sargsyan with the constitutional reform are your weakness and a consequence of the lack of real arguments. The holy place is never empty. Others will replace you,” H. Naghdalyan said.
