Armenian president attends opening ceremony of residential complex for young scholars
Armenian President, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Yerevan State University (YSU) Alumni Union Serzh Sargsyan was present today at the opening ceremony of a multi-apartment multifunctional building constructed under the social housing program ‘Affordable apartments to young scholars and members of creative unions’ of YSU Alumni Union NGO, the presidential press service said.
President Sargsyan toured the residential complex, visited apartments of beneficiaries, and familiarized himself with the work done and the living conditions.
The program provided 291 beneficiaries with the opportunity to purchase an apartment.
The apartments of the multifunctional residential complex are located in buildings No 8 and 8/1 on Paruyr Sevak Street in Yerevan. Young scholars and creative workers bought the apartments with modern architectural solutions at prices that are lower than the market price. The land parcel designed for construction and services has a total area of 9,800 square meters. The residential complex has two buildings. The site development area is 38,846 sq. meters. A 7,110 sq. meter area adjacent to the complex has modern amenities, new communication systems, and green spaces.
The total cost of the housing program was 5,844,049,904 drams. Over 800 jobs were created during the program’s implementation.
After the festive house warming ceremony at residential complex ‘Zeytun 1’, the president went to the building site of the nearby complex ‘Zeytun 2’ to see the work done so far.
