David Babayan: Nothing strange is happening, Azerbaijan true to its policy, and there is no reason for panic
Nothing strange is happening. The Azerbaijani side is true to its ways and carries out the same policy, there is no reason for panic, David Babayan – spokesman for president of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic – told Panorama.am when commenting on the recent acts of Azerbaijani troops.
“Nothing has changed. Azerbaijan continues its destructive policy,” D. Babayan said.
“I believe that OSCE Minsk Co-chairs should react quite toughly to that incident. Azerbaijan should understand at last that such behavior has no prospects,” Babayan noted.
When asked if a tough statement by the OSCE Minsk Group Co-chairs will “put Baku in its place”, Babayan replied: “Azerbaijan will be put in its place first of all by the Armenian army. But I think a harsh statement by the OSCE Minsk Group Co-chairs will also have a sobering effect”.
He stressed again that the Armenian army gives a proportional response.
As regards the question of whether any information is available about Azerbaijani casualties, the NKR presidential spokesman said: “No incident goes without a response. They suffered many losses, and this always happens. Besides, a panic situation has emerged there in several directions ”.
