On 26 September President of Nagorno Karabakh Republic Bako Sahakyan signed decrees on awards, the press service of NKR President’s Office said.

According to the decrees, "For Service in Battle" medal was awarded to servicemen of NKR Defense Army Norayr Khachatryan, Robert Mkrtchyan, Karen Shahinyan and Harout Hakobyan for courage shown during the defense of the Nagorno Karabagh Republic state borders.

As was reported, the Azerbaijani side violated the ceasefire about 100 times on the line of contact between the armed forces of Karabakh and Azerbaijan yesterday, September 25, and on the night of September 26, according to the press service of Defense Ministry of Nagorno Karabakh Republic. During that period over 1,000 shots were fired at Armenian positions by Azerbaijani frontline units from small arms of various calibers, as well as from 60mm (16 shells), 82mm (28 shells), and 120 mm mortars (2 shells), and also RPG-7 and AGS-17 grenade launchers. In addition, the enemy also used Turkish-made TR-107 rocket launcher (12 shells) during the same period, and a D30 122mm howitzer (30 shells) was used for the first time since the signing of the ceasefire agreement. As a result of shelling of a military position in the south-eastern direction by the Azerbaijani side with Turkish-manufactured TR-107 rocket launcher, four servicemen of the NKR Defense Army – Norayr Khachatryan, 20, Robert Mkrtchyan, 20, Harut Hakobyan, 18, and Karen Shahinyan, 18, were killed, and there were also wounded soldiers. The enemy’s attacks were halted thanks to actions taken by the frontline units of NKR Defense Army.
