G. Kostanyan: Website of Armenian representation to ECHR is unique project to enhance human rights protection
An official presentation of the website (www.echr.am) of Armenia’s representation to the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) took place today. The website was launched with the support of the Council of Europe. Armenia’s Plenipotentiary Representative to ECHR, Prosecutor General of Armenia Gevorg Kostanyan said at the event that Armenia became the first country to have launched a website of its representation to ECHR.
The authors of the initiative say the measure will ensure greater efficiency of the execution of ECHR’s decisions. Besides, the website will serve as an important instrument aimed at increasing access of citizens to international human rights documents and legal protection mechanisms. It will enable to raise society’s awareness and the efficiency of human rights protection mechanisms.
PastInfo news agency for its part highlights the statement of Gevorg Kostanyan to the effect that the website of the Armenian representation to ECHR is the only one in the territory of Council of Europe member states. In his words, the resource will become a pilot project for Council of Europe to extend Armenia’s experience to other countries of CoE.
