‘Unbreakable Brotherhood 2015’ drills of CSTO states underway in Armenia
‘Unbreakable Brotherhood 2015’ military drills of the Collective Peacekeeping Forces (CPF) of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) started at ‘Baghramyan’ training ground of Armenian Defense Ministry on September 30.
In the second phase of the drills on October 1 CSTO CPF continued preparations and practical training for peacekeeping activities, the press service of the defense ministry said.
According to the scenario of the drills, the command of CSTO CPF was given a mandate to conduct peacekeeping activities and the Joint Staff of CSTO CPF assumed command of the activities.
Practical training took place, including isolation and neutralization of militant camps, organization of patrols at observation posts, capacity building, and drafting the necessary documents.
The current drills are being conducted by a decision taken in December 2014 by Council of Defense Ministers of CSTO member states and the Committee of Security Councils’ Secretaries of CSTO.
Over 600 troops, 50 units of military hardware, and aircraft are participating in the drills.
