Chief of General Staff of Belarus armed forces on official visit to Armenia
Chief of the General Staff of the Belarusian Armed Forces, First Deputy Defense Minister of Belarus Maj. Gen. Oleg Belokonev is on an official visit to Armenia on October 1-5 at the invitation of Chief of the General Staff of the Armenian armed forces Col. Gen. Yuri Khachaturov, the press service of Armenian Defense Ministry reported.
During the visit Oleg Belokonev held on October 1 a face-to-face conversation with Yuri Khachaturov, followed by an enlarged meeting with the participation of the delegations.
Military and military-technical cooperation between Armenia and Belarus were discussed at the meeting. An agreement was reached to implement programs in spheres of mutual interest. The sides exchanged opinions about the military-political situation around the two countries.
Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan met with Oleg Belokonev. Ambassador of Belarus to Armenia Igor Nazaruk also participated in the meeting.
During his visit Oleg Belokonev is expected to visit enterprises of the military-industrial complex and have a number of meetings.
On October 4 the delegation of Belarus will participate in the active phase and the closing ceremony of Collective Security Treaty Organization’s (CSTO) ‘Unbreakable Brotherhood 2015’ military drills in Armenia.
