Aram Khachaturian International Music Festival opens in Yerevan
The 3rd International Music Festival after Aram Khachaturian opens in Yerevan today, on October 3, according to the press service of Armenian Culture Ministry.
Initiated by the Youth Orchestra of Armenia, the festival will include a series of chamber and symphony concerts and Armenian premieres of famous works. Chamber and symphony concerts will take place on Wednesdays and Saturdays, respectively.
The festival is held under the patronage of Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan. It will last until December 5. On that day the Youth Orchestra and the Armenian jazz band will perform jazz arrangements of Khachaturian’s works. Pianist Vahagn Hayrapetyan and saxophonist Armen Usunts will participate in the show.
