Aravot: L. Martirosyan and V. Aivazyan fail to vote on draft constitutional amendments because of being late
Levon Martirosyan and Vardan Aivazyan – both of them MPs of ‘Republican Party of Armenia’ (RPA) faction of the Armenian parliament – did not participate yesterday in the vote on the draft amendments to the Constitution of Armenia, ‘Aravot’ paper says.
The paper contacted RPA faction head Vahram Baghdasaryan to find out why the MPs were absent.
Baghdasaryan said that the two RPA faction members’ failed to vote on the draft amendments due to a purely technical issue: the vote lasted only 15 seconds, while L. Martirosyan and V. Aivazyan arrived late at the session hall.
“They later gave an explanation to the secretariat regarding their absence, but of course, it did not affect the vote results,” Baghdasaryan noted.
