‘Honorary Citizen of Yerevan’ title to be conferred on several Armenians on the 2797th anniversary of capital city
At the suggestion of Yerevan mayor, on October 8 the Yerevan Council of Elders will confer the title of Honorary Citizen of Yerevan on a number of citizens on the occasion of the 2797th anniversary of the capital city, according to the website of Yerevan Municipality.
It was proposed conferring the title on composer, Armenia’s Merited Arts Worker, principal conductor and artistic director of the symphony and jazz orchestra of State Television and Radio of Armenia Yervand Yerznkyan, singer, People’s Artist of Armenia Ms. Raisa Mkrtchyan, singer, People’s Artist of Armenia Ruben Matevosyan, and boxer, multiple time world champion Arthur Abraham (Avetik Abrahamyan).
The Council of Elders will also consider proposals for gratuitous alienation of several apartments.
